Healthcare Taxes

Under the government's health care law (Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare), you are required to submit tax forms relating to your Marketplace health insurance coverage. Marketplace coverage is is for people who do not have health insurance through a job or from Medicare or Medicaid. You can get Marketplace coverage from healthcare.gov or state programs such as Covered California, Get Covered NJ, NY State of Health or Pennie (PA).

For most people, Marketplace coverage rates are affordable because you get tax credits to help pay for it. IRS health care form 1095-A will report the tax credits you received. Then, as part of your tax return, we prepare the IRS Premium Tax Credit form 8962, which reconciles that information with your income and expenses.
